though i don't think this subject's fitting for the mailinglist, i think you
have to be corrected on this:-) being a celeron owner (a 300A, for all that
it matters), i can happily state that my system is running at 450 mhz and
fully stable at that (even under M$ Windowze). anyway, this celeron at the
same clock speed will outperform any CPU (even a "real" P2 450) on "normal"
apps, simply because the second level cache is actually accessed at the full
CPU speed, which is 450 mhz. also, the FSB is 100 mhz, so the only downside
is the fairly small second level cache size... but then again, who actually
runs apps that require more to really gain a speed boost?.

the only chance your K6-3 has a chance of beeing faster is if the software
is specifically AMD optimized.. especially considering that the AMD CPUs are
real cripples in floating point arithmetic.

of course, the K7 (or Athlon) is an entirely different subject. too bad
there aren't enough boards yet to get a real substance to build on.. i'd
throw this intel out any day for an athlon.. kick ass!:-)
