Well, let's see how far I can help ya out.

If you've got a soundboard with a digital output, yeah sure.
Digital outputs come in a wide variaty on soundboards, some boards only
have a small 2 pin jumper header from which a CMOS or TTL S/PDIF level
comes. You'll need a converter to make it into a optical signal, if it's a
TTL level you're in luck, the only thing you'll need to do is hook up a
TOSLINK transmitter unit like the Toshiba TOX173, if it's CMOS you'll need
a line driver to convert the CMOS into a TTL signal, just look around on
the internet for a schematic, and let someone with some electronic
knowledge build it. Then there's also the coaxial outputs, normally via a
Cinch connecter, in fact this is nothing but a CMOS S/PDIF signal, so
you'll need a converter with live driver for that. If you're one of the
lucky bastards that's got a Sounblaster Live (I believe Platinum) with an
optical output all you'll have to do is hook up your optical cable and your
done. If you've got a deck which about always have a non-optical digital
input you have to connect it to a coaxial output.

Not that I know of.

There's talk of MD-Data, but that isn't quite a success yet.
