I think it records in Mono at half the standard ATRAC bitrate. (80 mins in
Mono  would be 160 mins - double that is 320 mins = 5hrs 20 mins). I wonder
if that means you could use Long PLay to record 160 mins stereo. This would
mean one 74 min disc could hold 148 mins of stereo in the same quality as
you get from 160kbps MP3 files. If that played back in a standard MD player
then that would be fantastic for general walkabout use!!
