>> would the "expensive box" work the other way around? i.e. could you connect the changer control cable coming from a Sony head-unit which DOES have changer capability to the box and in turn connect the box to a cable with RCAs leading to a 3.5 mm plug - allowing you to hook an MD/CD portable in through the box and to listen to the portable through the car stereo (via the changer controls)?? << I havnet tried it - bu I suppose you could... but why? If your car has RCA line inputs - then get a $3 cable from "Rat Shack" (aka Radio Shack) or anywhere else and plug the MD (or heaven forbid a MP3 player) to the line inputs. If you DONT have line inputs, then yeah - you might want to use the box to connect a line source and send the signal to your antenna and thus recieve the signal vai the FM radio channel. But - the "box" costs as much as some low end head units (aka Im guessing $150 or so) so it would be FAR cheaper to a) get a head unit that had line inputs b) get an amp and connect the external device to the amp's line inputs (and swithc between the head unit or the external unit) Since the box has "uni-link" controls, there is no interface to make unit link controls "operate" an MD player - at least as far as I know. So you cnat use the uni-link controls to operat the head unit (without alot of "interesting" engineering) EWong ----------------------------------------------------------------- To stop getting this list send a message containing just the word "unsubscribe" to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
