It seems to be like my MDX-C670RDS doesnt play minidiscs at all anymore.
All I get when inserting a disc is beeps, the text 'ERROR' on the display
and it spits the disc out whether it is a self made one or a pre-recorded
disk. The last time I used it was maybe last september/october before
putting my car to winter hibernation.
I tried inserting a cleaning disc too but it doesnt even try to clean it,
just spits the disc out with 'ERROR'. Has anybody else had similar
problems with this unit? Is the problem with the optical unit or something
else? I would think that if it was a reading error it would give me a
'Disk Error' or something like that like the other md players.
I'd be most disappointed with it, if it was anything else than just being
dirty, as I've played minidiscs on it for only maybe 10-20 hours.
How understanding has sony been with out of warranty work?? Its only 2
years old now. My previous in car minidisc (MDX-U1RDS) was broken also
but some unlucky thief stole it before I could do anything to fix it :).
I'm pissed as it is, as removing it from the dash requires dissassembling
the whole lower part of the dash to get it removed or installed because
there are so many wires going to it and there is very little room. The
shop that installed it didnt even get it to click in its place properly
and I had to do it myself.
