Is there free software for Mac that I could use to make a compilation
of few cd-quality sounds.
-> You might want to try SoundApp. It's a no frills mp3 player(it's a kick
ass player. Tons more reliable and less RAM draining than macast, but I
won't get into that) and it seems to be able to output to various sound
formats. I've seen it, but I've never tried it. It's a small (like 1 meg at
the most) shareware program you can download from somewhere like
www.download.com.
