Just stopped by Circuit City and got a pair of Koss SportaPro headphones. These are some of the best sounding headphones for $20! They are WAY above anything else I've heard at this price. For purists, they are a touch "heavy" in the bass (probably not a bad thing for many listening environments, as it would tend to balance out background rumble on the train, in a bus or car) and they have a slight peak around 5K followed by a gentle rolloff (tends to slightly accentuate hiss). But they are light weight, comfortable and quite appropriate for portable listening and have a well balanced, non-fatiguing sound.
