I have MDS-PC3. It comes with a USB device that convert audio
signal to digital optical. So anything you can listent to your
computer can be recorded digitally to MD. It's a pretty good unit
only if you have a huge MP3 collection. I also have a digital
sound card. I connect the Digital Out from MDS-PC3 to my PC
Digital In. Then I can record songs off MD digitally without
worrying the SCAM scam.

i don't know the MDS-PC3, but any other system that advertises
Computer hookup uses either the xitel line of products or
something similar.
