Doug McMahon proposed the following answer:
The codecs are drawn from mplayer and the 20110131 are the latest available
there. So the 20071007-0medibuntu pckage is not reflective of the latest set.
(mainly just an increase in avail. codecs from 132 to 222, noting that many
are a bit obscure, there are actually 225 now in the mplayer codecs

So - no you don't have the latest set and yes the page can use updating
(nice job on the DigitalAC-3Pulseaudio page
