Hi Kim- If you are considering order strings now in the future, I would go with FDB. Among other reasons, but the FSV's are pretty similar with regards to AWP updating, Dose Range Checking (or lack thereof), etc. I have also found FDB's Customer Service top notch. We would like to hear from other sites which vendor they went with, MediSpan or First Data Bank, and why that vendor. Currently we have a drug dictionary full of non-formulary items, created over the past 7 years, and need to switch over to a formulary vendor for two big reason: 1. Quarterly drug data updates, NDC numbers 2. new EDM application (future NUR and MPM applications 07/08) If you could let me know, how long did your formulary install take and how many users were dedicated to your project.
