Ben,
In order to address this problem you will need to address your ABS
Patient Class dictionary for "Grouper Based on" DIS to Grouper Based on
ADM.  Groupers are treated differently by admit date and discharge date;
unfortunately who ever set up your ABS dictionary did not understand
this and followed Meditech's direction.  If you talk to 3M they will
tell you what groupers are based on DIS (discharge date) and what
groupers are based on ADM (admission date).  You will want to make sure
that your 3M Codefinder and Meditech ABS Patient Class dictionary are
set the same, otherwise you will continue to have this problem.

        We are having great difficulty coding our Recurring patients who
have visits spanning grouper versions.  We are a Meditech 5.5 client
server site using the 3M Codefinder.  Our Recurring accounts are set up
for 90 days for billing purposes.  We have a great number of recurring
patients whose initial visit was prior to 10/1/06 and had subsequent
visits after 10/1/06.  Our Pt. Class for Recurring grouper is set to DIS
for discharge.  Our problem is when a code has been removed from the
grouper for the prior visit or a new code has been added to the new
version - we get invalid code messages.  

        Does anyone out there with the same scenario have a solution to
this problem?  Any help would be greatly appreciated since what little
hair I have left is being non-surgically removed over this issue.
