included in PATH (as shown below), so there should be C++ complier
available on my computer.
I don't know whether the configure script can use the Visual C++ compiler;
I would strongly recommend installing the GNU C++ compiler (g++). This is
available as a precompiled package for Cygwin on www.cygwin.com.
