If you have read the latest GFOA Newsletter, they have announced the the GFOA certification examination will also be given in California on Friday, October 27. I have been tasked to coordinate the site both for the North and South and coordinate with GFOA the adminstration of the exam here. For now, I have reserved our public library as the testing site for the South. I need to know how many of our CSMFO members are planning to take the exam in California (the exam will be given in Chicago in June). All four parts of the exam (Accounting, Auditing and Financial Reporting; Cash Management; Debt Management; and Operating & Capital Budgeting) will be given. Please let me know if you prefer to take the exam in Redondo Beach or somewhere in Northern California. I will also need a volunteer from Northern California to "host" the exam there. I'm assuming we'll be taking the same format as GFOA - meaning two exams will be in the morning and the other two in the afternoon. Redondo Beach is close to the airport and we have plenty of lodging facilities nearby if needed. The library itself is within walking distance from the Crowne Plaza or any of the three hotels we have in the harbor area. Would appreciate your feedback. Agnes T.
