We need a few more Coaches to pair up with members who would like to be
Players. In particular, we'd like to find Coaches in the following
geographical locations:
+ greater L.A. area
+ Pasadena to San Bernardino area
+ Orange County area
+ Sacramento-Chico-Red Bluff-Redding
Please consider serving as a Coach to an up and coming CSMFO member (a
"Player") who'd like to learn from you. Both Coaches and Players gave the
CSMFO Coaching pilot program high marks:
"An opportunity to give back to the group. A very self-rewarding

We already have a great group of Coaches and eager Players for the spring of
2000. We just need a few more Coaches. It's a 3 to 4 month voluntary

WHAT'S THE CSMFO COACHING PROGRAM?
It's the pairing of seasoned finance officers with newer and less
experienced professionals. A primary objective of the program is to give
participants an opportunity to learn new skills, thereby, expanding their
professional and personal development while "grooming" the next generation
of finance officers and promoting the high standards of the profession. You
don't have to be an expert to be a good Coach. Your role is to share your
experience and to help your Player find the answers for himself or herself.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Participants exchange ideas and insights through periodic one-on-one
meetings using the mix of phone, email and in-person contacts that suits
them. The participants set the schedule and level of involvement they want.
A one-hour, telephone orientation session ensures participants understand
the key elements of a successful coaching relationship. Optional bridge
calls offer an opportunity to learn from a broader group. The personal
profile tool helps participants gain deeper insights into their management
style and how to enhance their effectiveness.
HOW YOU CAN PARTICIPATE
