We are looking for a publication or website which can help us determine current 1099 applicability. We have reference material dated 1997 and want to update our resources. We have tried the IRS website and it did not provide the level of detail we need. Specifically, we are wondering whether our contract City Attorney is subject to 1099 reporting and what criteria should be applied to caterers. Thank you for any information you can provide.
