A question was recently posed by our Council
regarding whether or not we have too much ending balance. I am
asking this group a two-part question:
1. Does your City have a policy
regarding ending unreserved fund balance as a percentage of total
outgo?
2. What percentage of ending fund
balance is prudent?
With the impact of the 2000 Census still being an
unknown, we are concerned about the impact on our population-based
revenues...
