Greetings, The City of Baldwin Park finds itself in a situation where it will not be ready to adopt a budget for fiscal year 2000-2001 by June 30, 2000. Since appropriatons lapse at the June 30, 2000, we need to have the spending authority to keep paying the bills. We are considering a temporary solution by recommeding the City Council adopt a resolution to allow the continuing approriations at the current year level or some other type of authorization until a final budget for 2000-2001 can be adopted. If any city has experienced this situation in the past we would appreciate sharing the approach used to resolve this or any recommendations as an alternative.
