I'm forwarding a question from our Parks and Community
Services Department. If you folks would be kind enough to respond to
Donna's question, directly to her, we would appreciate it. THANKS for your
input.
Donna's Question:
Pacific Bell has recently approached the city of Davis to
request four easements to install very large unground equipment vaults (part of
the vault is above ground). The vaults would be on easements located on
city owned property (e.g. park and greenbelt).
Preliminary discussions with the PacBell representative
indicate they never agree to provide annual lease payments, but instead offer
one payment ranging between $5,000 and $10,000. They apparently also agree
to terms such as repairing landscaping and providing fences, etc. that will make
the vaults more aesthetically pleasing.
My question....
Have you had any similar transactions with Pacific Bell?
If so, would you please provide any details that would help us evaluate any
proposed offer. I would appreciate hearing from you before the end of
July.
