I tried to source one of these DOHC LZ engines from Japan around 20 years ago through Rallye Quip (Sydney) and it was virtually impossible then so i guess there's not much hope these days, better chance of winning lotto (:-. These engines were never produced in road going cars, only built for "works" WRC cars and the privateer version which was more commonly available was the SOHC LZ1889W that was extensively copied by the engine builders of the day (Arthur Jackson) was a well known one in Sydney and a further modification (L20B crank) that was 2.1 litres. I have only ever seen 3 of the twin cam engines in road going cars, but not recently. The Ballarat car was in one of the mags must be 5 years, time flies could be as many as 10 years ago so who knows where that car is today. I think i've seen a reference to that car on this list around 12 months ago but i can't recall who or what it was about.
terry (an SR conversion is looking good for you)

Terry, Thanks for the pic. I have a very strong L18 in my 1600 but was thinking of doing the SR20DET conversion. But if this twin cam head is around It would be great to get a hold of one.Do you know anywhere I could source one, even if it is over seas? Thanks Chris-----Original Message-----
