G'day list,
I've got an '84 series 2 trx. im having a problem where
regardless of the engine being hot or cold, the motor starts surging and
eventually stalls. I checked the float level in the carbie and its always
empty. I've replaced the electronic fuel pump and bought a reco carbie and
it still does it. The auto electrician couldn't find anything wrong with it,
and neither could the mechanic. I've been told it could be water or a
restriction in the fuel tank, but I don't think it is because it happens no
matter if the tank is empty or full. I was just wondering wether anyone has
had the same problem or heard of anything similar? The car is completely
stock and I would get nissan to take a look at it but I'm a 1st year
apprentice and hence, I can't afford it. Any ideas would be greatly
appreciated... Thanks.
