I think the car George Fury drove in the Alpine was a an ex Safari Datsun
Violet or 160J, which looked like a cross between a 120Y and a 180BSSS. It
had one of those rare L20z 2litre twin cam engines with EFI, producing about
260BHP. Sounded awsome at eight grand in the still night air around Bright.
Greg Carr drove it or a similar one the following year.
