Wardy,
I would try a quality LOCTITE product designed for hydraulics and heat.
        Pete.

Subject: incessant oil leak.

G'day listers, just wanted a few ideas to try and stop this bloody oil leak
I've got.

Short story - I got myself an FJ20T and was pulling all the bits off it I
didn't need. I took off the oil pressure sender unit and was in the
process of taking off the 45 degree adapter (for the oil pressure sender)
when the head snapped off leaving the threaded portion in the block. So I
went to "easy" it out but it wouldn't budge, so I put a bit of elbow grease
into it and believe it or not, suceeded in cracking the small raised
portion of the block that normally meets the oil pressure sender. So after
I managed to get the threaded bit out, I welded up the cracks that I made
and as the thread inside the hole was stuffed, I re-tapped the hole. The
sender goes in sweet, but now there is a constant drip of oil from the
sender hole. I've tried all types of tricks - thread tape, silicon, but it
only lasts until the engine warms up and it's dripping again. I've been at
it for days to try and fix it but I'm getting the sh*ts with it.

Sooooo,

What to do ? (I wish I never took that bloody 45 degree adapter out !)
Ideas ?

Ta, Wardy
