Hi
The S13 SR20DET puts out 4 more kw's than the most powerful RB20DET, in a
1600 they are very front heavy, good for heli's but that's about it, throws
out the handling heaps and SSS did one (1600 to RB20DEt conversion) ages ago
and then swore they wouldn't do it again, bugger all parts available unless
you want to pay importers prices. Then there's the RB25DET that makes 187kw
and is a nice motor in the R33 skyline but is still very expensive.
Then there is the RB26DETT which if i had one i would go through the brain
damage to fit it to a 1600, but pull stupid amounts of money. I know a bloke
who brought a RB26DETT for $4000 with a blown turbo and a hole in the block
but the head was what he wanted and this is how he got his 10sec VL
commodore, it's all an issue of money people.
