I just finished a 1600 external repaint in acrylic. It cost me about $350
in paint and materials. Paint was $195 for 4 litres, 2 pac is about twice
the price, say $400.

For less than $2000 you could buy yourself a top quality 17 cu ft/min
compressor, spray equipt, and do the job yourself, if your have a shed. You
would be left owning a lot of good gear and $2500.

You can easily learn to repair and paint at your local TAFE or out of a
book. My local paint supply shop people are very helpful advisors (both
tradesmen auto painters and keen to help DIYers.) You will also know your
car all over, how to repair it next time it gets a scratch as you will have
paint to match left over.
