I got a few questions relating to this Gazelle engine donor I just got.
1) is there any other gearbox that will fit or does it have to be an
FJ20DET...will a N/A FJ 'box fit or internals from another Nissan 'box? Mine
has poor syncro on second.
2) can I change the airflow meter to a hotwire type from a VG30E or similar?
If so how?
3) what kind of spark plugs does it take? (I have no idea if the ones in it
are correct)
4)I was told that the ignition is controlled separately from the
injection...i.e ign is self contained and the ECU does the injection
only..is this right?
5) I want to freshen up the motor before it goes in my 710SSS with new
bearings, rings and gaskets. Is this stuff available down under and can
anybody point me in the direction of a supplier...possibly online?
Sorry for so many questions but I have no info on this engine at all as it
was never available here.I'm well impressed with the performance of the
Gazelle considering it's weight...can't wait to get it in the 710 with a few
tweeks for more horses :-)
(S12 brakes are going on too)
