I believe the Leone turbo box uses larger width gears than the N/A model

Listers,
A mate has a 85 model subaru leonie RX 4WD turbo. (1.8 turbo 4 pot). Now
the gearbox has shit itself, but he has a spare from a non turbo model.
Does anyone know if there is a difference in the boxes?
Obviously the turbo engine makes more power, but the turbo (factory one) is
pretty small so i would assume that the power difference is not huge.
