Nick,
The TRX setup is OK! the only difference for rallying is that the R31
caliper setup allows mechanical use of the pads for handbrake turns vs
hydraulic set ups. The TRX rear axle doesn't lend it self to this sort of
use due to the small park brake shoe drum setup.
Cheers

Subject: Gazelle axle into Stanza

Errol,
I bought a Gazelle axle recently.
I've been looking around for a good, set of R31 discs etc.. to do the
conversion.
I have noticed that the PCD of the axle-flange bolts is different on the
Gazelle and R31, just like you said. I still think that I could weld up the
holes in the R31 bracket and re-drill them to suit the Gazelle axle rather
than welding the bracket onto the housing ( I don't trust my welds that
much).
I have a TRX disc brake axle and just happened to measure the PCD etc.. and
I think it may be a straight bolt-on swap.
The TRX rear disc setup is quite a bit heavier and uglier than the R31.
Do you think it would be a bolt-on swap?
What are the cylinder diameters/ No. of cylinders in both types of
calliper?
Regards,
Nick
