Eddie,

What model years are you talking about, specifically for the 200SX/Silvia?
Are you saying that the mid eighties Gazelles have the same sort of strut as
the late 90's 200SX?
If so, why are we all stuffing around with old struts when we can bolt in
cheap Japanese import struts from a crashed 180SX or etc... with 4 spots,
30mm wide discs, heaps of neg. camber and sports shocks!!!!
Unfortunately though, the 180/200SX's we get over here are 5 stud hubs - but
we could use 910 or Gazelle hubs and U13 discs to convert them..

Anyway,

Why not use the S12 strut complete?

All you need is a spacer/adapter ring for the steering arm locating spigot.
Use an R31 caliper as this will accept a 22mm wide R31 vented disc, the
stock 910 / S12 Gazelle caliper will only accept one 16mm wide - At least in
Oz, UK spec. may be different.

I am currently running a 910 strut front end, only gripe is spring diameter
is too big and it only just fits into my towers, on full lock there is
bugger all clearance so I had to relocate my Ignition coil (self tapping
screws fouled the top spring seat)
.
S12 struts are supposed to have more neg, camber than standard Datto struts,
another reason to use them.

Nick
