Custom Tail Lights

I want to fit custom tail lights to my 200B one day. I have a particular "hot plate" design in mind, but I dont know if you can do it legally. Do you have to have reflectors? And where do they have to be mounted?   I've already fitted custom grill and front indicators...unfortunately they dont have park lights.
