My very thought when I read this - we've taught you well!

Check that the big white wire that goes into the fuse block, it connects to
the fuse box in between the other two plugs. This wire comes from the
starter solenoid and sometimes has a fusible link in place and is usually
where an AMPS gauge is wired into the loom. On the loom side of the plug
there are actually 2 wires that join at the plug, a white wire and a
white/red trace wire. If there is no power at this plug then nothing in the
car will get power except for relays that are connected directly from the
battery or solenoid. The symptoms you describe are in line with this area
being a problem.

I think (from memory) that comes from a bigger white wire and it goes to the
starter or alternator.. Terry should be able to help!
