I have a set of Dynalites on my '72, four pistons in the front, two in the rear. I
wish I could give you my "driver's impression", but the motor hasn't made it into the
car yet :(
Dynalites are very light and seem easy to service.
The front pads are kept in place by a long cotter pin, whereas the rear calipers have
tricky safety pin like device securing the pads.
Wilwood stresses that they are for off-road use only.
I was told they are not suitable for daily street usage mainly because they lack boots
around the pistons which help keep debris out even in wet conditions.
On the otherhand, I was told if the brakes are inspected and maintained often, much
like those on off-road race vehicles, there shouldn't be much problem. (Southern
California climate helps too, not much rain during Apr~Oct, and I can always ride my
bike if it rains...)
Don't know much about the Skyline calipers, but I imagine they have boots and require
less attention.
Properly set up Dynalites should allow you to run light weight 13 inch diameter wheels
and tires without grinding parts or adding spacers.
Can't comment on the Skyline caliper set up and compatible wheels.
