Duncan   To save yourself money and time messing around with trying to get the jets right in your webbers just take your car to Ian Stewart at Carb Tech.  He is the Guru is Brisbane when it comes to setting up webbers on an L series.  I am sure local rally guys will agree. I took my car there running like a dog after I upgraded the cam to a 76 works grinds.  after a bit of fiddling around Ian worked out the cam timing wasn't quite right and we fixed the problem then tuned the carbies to suit and it has never run sweeter or harder. He is very reasonable with his pricing.    Scott ----- Original Message ----- From: Duncan Shillito To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Tuesday, October 02, 2001 6:13 PM Subject: weber tuning listers,   i'm having fun trying to achieve smooth slight acceleration with twin 45s on my 2.3 L series. full throttle is good but it backfires through the carbs during slight accel and cruise. i'm thinking that the idle jets are too large and there is too much fuel.   i have 55F9 jets but have tried 50F6 - worse.   there is a aluminium spacer under the head (starting to leak oil)- achieving 9:1 comp now but over 10:1 without it.   any ideas ????   thanks in advance, dunc.
