Duncan, The wade 76 in my engine, L20B, doesn't make power until 4000rpm and finishes at 6500rpm. I would get rid of the spacer. I am running 10.3:1 CR on optimax with no probs. Make sure you have hardened valve seats. A 76 has a lot of lift so make sure you have the appropriate valve springs to avoid coil bind. Most important: Check the wipe pattern on on the rocker arms when installing a new cam and torque the cam sprocket bolt. Not doing this leads to costly mistakes. Cheers Trev
