Ryan as it says in the link. In other words, while displacement increases 100% compare with the inulin-4, the second-order vibration increases just 41%. That makes the flat-plane V8 more refined than an inline-4 although it is not as smooth and quiet as cross-plane V8.
It certainly felt smooth to drive and had the best auto wrt shift points I have driven. At idle with the bonnet up you couldn't hear the engine and the only way you could tell it was running was by looking at the radiator fan. It had heaps of power and torque. In fact I gave it a boot full off from the lights and instinctively backed off at about 80Km in second at about 5000rpm because it was starting to feel too fast. 7k was redline. To answer your question probably smoother than the micra. That said it delivered power and torque at similar revs to the micra and felt similar over all but on a different Luxary scale of course. Even if they are an ugly duckling, I want one!
