Hi list, well my 1600 is finally on the road! It took meover a year of fixing it up and it's still a piece of shit! Oh well, at least there are a lot of things I can do to improve it myself,that's why I bought it. I pulled out the L16 the other day because I was getting too much pressure in the water system and there were bubbles when the engine was running looking into the radiator, apparent theat the head gasket was stuffed. I put in an l20b from a freinds crashed bluebird and it did the same thing so I removed the head. The gasket looked pretty fine so I am stumped. I plan on getting the head recoed but want to check for bore wear while I'm at it. How should I do this? the pistons giggle from side to side a bit, how much should they do this? Thanks Thomas.
