List, There are a few "rules" that have to be considered with a battery in the boot.
If the battery is a fully sealed type (e,g Omega, etc)it doesn't have to be vented. Semi sealed etc MUST be vented to the outside of the car and the battery box MUST be sealed also, i.e. the lid and exit points for the leads must also be sealed. Doing this is difficult, so the best answer unfortunatly is an expensive fully sealed battery. I used a traditional battery clamp over the top of the battery and passed the upright rods through the floor and through some 5 mm alloy checkerplate. You have to cut the plate to suit the underside of the boot floor pan. Stick the cover on the top do up the strap and "Voila". The sucker will never move !!!!
