Daniel,

Get some ” rod and cut a slot in one end about 25mm in length.  Tear a 30-35 mm strip of cloth backed emery into a strip about 250 in length. Out one end in the slot and wind the the cloth onto the rodin the direction of normal rotation with the abrasive on the out side.

A lot cheaper to use.

Cheers,

Feral Errol

Subject: mandrels and abrasive sleeves

Here's a question for all you DIY head reconditioners,

I've done a a bit of port enlargeing on my Z18 head and want to finish off the ports and combustion chambers properly but no one in town sells the little mandrels and abrasive sleeves for 1/4 inch die grinders.  I was wondering if any of you guys know where to get them or even little kits for doing such jobs?

any help will be hugely appreciated as I want to get the head back together asap!
