Mark, After destroying my L series motor a few months back by running over a ripple strip at Winton. I have started thinking about this too. The FJ is worse than the L as the bottom of the pan sits much lower than the L series. Obviously if it is made shallower then the pickup will need to be shortend. You could add a section on to the side with a gate to keep the same oil volume in the sump. It would also be worth while putting a plate below the crank with drain hole to keep the oil in the sump and not on the sides of the block as you go around corners. Regards Trev
