Mick,

The family had a very relaxed xmas & new year, thankyou. We worked for a
week or so after New Year as Ali was doing a riding school (4 legged) and
then we were off to the South Coast for a couple of week of surfing and all
the trimmings that go with it, eye strain included - very enjoyable and
relaxing but we're all back to reality now for another year.

Someone on the list said that thermostats usually fail in the closed
position - well that's not my experience as i've only ever had that happen
once on the way to a race meet at Oran Park and when it happens you don't
get very far. A hypo engine does put a fair bit of strain on the thermostat,
when output demands are sustained at a high level then it will be asked to
open up towards the upper limits of what they were designed for so a couple
of years out of them is about all they're good for. In a climate like
Canberra with extremes in both ends of the scale the thermostat gets a hard
life even in the family stocker.

regards
Terry

Hi ya Terry
How was your xmas and new year? U were missing from here for a while..
I reckon the thermostat is stuck open but i'll pull it tommorrow and test
it.
I really 'feel' that the std gauge is correct and the engine temp is way
low.
let u know
cheers
Mick
