Mick, Good one on the crook sender wire, it sure took us a while to suss that one out as I did on mine when I got that gremlin.
Never expect to be super quick first time on a track, you need lots of setup data to get to that level. The brakes not working properly did you no favours at all, it's means that setup wise you haven't gathered much worthwhile info on what you need to be quicker next time there, other than rear brakes that work so you'll have the confidence to push and find out what's working and what's not. Pass on the rear commy callipers, not me as i've only ever worked on 1600/180B front callipers, Volvo 144 and R31. The commy stuff on your new car isn't the same as what I saw on old blue is it? They were R31 from memory. If you still have them why not fit them on the new car. I wouldn't change anything on the front, again are they the same brakes as I saw on old blue? I'm sure that the effects of the heat shield and the extra altitude made the engine lean out cos i sure felt underpowered. It didn't matter a lot cos i had huge rear brake problems ie my discs are warped badly and even with the bias wound right off it really made it hard to drive. I been meaning to do something about this but last time i took the discs off and measured them i couldn't find anything in the DBA catalogue that went close. I've misplaced those measurements so i'll take em off again and measure. Just thought u might know what discs went with commy calipers on the rear? I understand that quiet a few guys have done this mod before You know I am considering pitching the 4spots and commy rears and going back to the lighter sumitomos and r31 rears.
