Subject: FJ flywheel thickness?

anyone know what the original thickness of a FJ20DET (DR30 Skyline) flywheel is?
[Terry Rudd] 30mm

also, has anybody had clutch issues before where they were supplied a clutch plate
that fit perfectly but when taken out found the plate had carved into the flywheel bolts
as in being too tall in the centre (spring) section?
[Terry Rudd] Never had this problem but with Nismo plates in the race car the pp side would wear at an alarming rate. We changed to Performance plates (actually for a Z24 Navara) and never had a problem after that.

speaking of which, anyone got any prices of a decent brass button plate?
in perth it will set me back $263 + GST just for the plate.
[Terry Rudd] Pretty good price afaik.

and last but not least... if i have a h/duty pressure plate only a few hundred k's old
and i had my flywheel machined, would it be alright to throw in a button plate?
[Terry Rudd] If it's not scored (and it shouldn't be) I can't think of any reason why not. How much did they machine off the original plate, more importantly how much under 30mm is it now?

regards
Terry

cheers
