Hi Leighton,

I thought I heard of all the conversion's for front brakes on Datto's,
but this one is new to me.

Mazda RX7 disc are vented, and will not be able to be used with a
calliper off a solid disc model, such as a 1600 or other Datsun until
late 1980's.

As you are trying to find a simple solution, just buy a pair of Datsun
200B struts complete out of the paper (or a whole 200B, lol) for $100 or
so... They'll bolt straight up, down to the last clip, hose and bolt.
They are a lot better than standard 1600 ones, and will fit with 13"
wheels if required.

At least you'll get on the road, and you'll have some time to play
around with combinations that'll work on the vented RX7 discs if you
intend to go that route....

Regards,

Jeremy

Subject: URGENT!!! need help

I have just purchased a wagon (1600) and need to get it road worthy this
week!

There is some trouble that i must fix -
the front end has stock 1600 struts
however ther are RX7 discs on it it which are still in good order but
the
calipers are skyline of some sort.
Now the problem arises where the pads meet the disc - - not all of the
pad
is on the disc there is a slight over hang - hence it cant be road
worthied
So im thinking i just need to get a hold of some stock calipers or some
that
will bolt straight up to the strut. There is an adaptor plate that the
skyline calipers are bolted too. I wanna get rid of this

does any bodyhave any stock calipers i can buy off them - i need them
like
now or tomorrow - IM IN VICTORIA in melbourne

Now the next question is will the stock caliper be fine with the rx7
discs
that are on already or do you think i should just get stock discs as
wel???

really need some help

Thanx

Leighton
