Higher
than initial timing at idle is not all that bad although if too high it will
affect low down response. Initial static timing has to be within a range so that
the engine will start. The critical timing points for a turbo are approaching
max torque and timing at this point is usually at max advance. The problem
with manifold vac when used with a DCOE weber is that it not metered and
therefore it will pulse the vac unit and vary the timing during acceleration. A
turbo such as yours may not be affected as much (if at all) like a DCOE
NA.
