Mick,   This was a big problem in early motor cycles but i've removed a lot of hot plugs out of alloy heads on Dattos & Toys etc and never hurt a thread yet. Many years ago I had a bad run with spark plug threads in the Datto A87 head and I was advised NOT to remove spark plugs when the engine is hot as the threads tend to distort and destroy themselves. Is this true? I only ever pull the plugs cold now but i would sorely love to do a few HOT 'plug chops' and have a good look.
