I have had trouble with this type of deal before (with non-Datto engine though)
Owner says: Yeah, Yeah, good engine, just can't afford to replace the head gasket at the moment. I find out (later): Cracked and warped head, severe bore wear. Cost me a bomb to put right. Given that Bluebirds are so common you should be able to get a good running engine with no problems for that price. I would always want to test drive the motor before I buy it. I am probably too cautious but that is my $0.02 Nick Once bitten, twice shy :) > Ben wrote: > > > $50 and a 100km round trip sound ok for a l20b from a 81 bluey with a > > blown head gasket?? all i need really is the block, crank and rods, to > > build my new motor > > > > > > --membersozdat------------------------------------------------------- > > OZDAT Mailing List Please Note:- > > Send (un)subscribe requests to [EMAIL PROTECTED] > > Send submissions to [EMAIL PROTECTED] > > No unauthorised redistribution of this email > > http://www.ozdat.com/ozdatonline/index.htm > > http://www.ozdat.com/ozdatonline/listindex.html > > http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ > > --------------------------------------------------------------------- > > > > This message was sent through MyMail http://www.mymail.com.au --membersozdat------------------------------------------------------- OZDAT Mailing List Please Note:- Send (un)subscribe requests to [EMAIL PROTECTED] Send submissions to [EMAIL PROTECTED] No unauthorised redistribution of this email http://www.ozdat.com/ozdatonline/index.htm http://www.ozdat.com/ozdatonline/listindex.html http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ ---------------------------------------------------------------------
