Daniel,

You can legally use metal spacer blocks, drilled with elongate holes and use longer high tensile bolts, 1" sounds a bit thick though, I thought they were ~19/20mm or so. Check that the tailshaft yoke is in unison with the diff flange. I guess you could use rubber. You use the 1/2 height rear mount off a 240K/Stanza etc, not a 1600. And make sure you re-attach the handbrake cable guide on the other side as that's the thing you'll most likely get failed for by the RTA. You also have to use a small steel plate on the inside of the floor pan to reinforce the new bolt holes.

regards
Terry

Subject: Gearbox crossmember questions

Hey guys,

a mate of mine is bolting a 240k 5 speed up to the back of his l20B in his 1600.  He used the standard crossmember and reversed it which almost lined up the holes which is OK but the actual crossmember doesn't touch the floor pan.  There is about an 1 inch gap.  I remember with mine, we used the old radius rod bushes and longer high tensile bolts to solve the problem.  I was just wondering what others do to solve this problem?

Cheers

Daniel Kroehn
