Richard,
I've
done it twice with an integrated system and once with an under dash (glove box
actually). The under dash one we used S1 Bluey plumbing and it was a snack - I
ripped it out though when R12 went off the market as the cost to upgrade it to
the new sh*t (R134a) was prohibitive and it wouldn't fit with the FJ when it
gets stuffed into the road car. I used a Stanza Series 1 integrated once and it
wasn't too bad to fit - but it's not worth using the old stuff these days. I'd
be looking at a N14/15 Pulsar or similar as a donor. The other integrated unit I
used was a Cortina XLE unit for some reason, must have been a good one at the
time and the plumbing was easy but the in car unit wasn't - worked the best of
all of them though but again it was a R12 unit.
regards
Terry
(these days I use 4 x 100 a/c)
