Thanks for passing on your experience on this Terry.

Us SOB's have different priorities for our modified cars!  Apart from some grunt, mine has to be "livable", so my wife will agree to travel in it in preference to her VS Calais - a bit of a challenge for a 71 Datto.

Richard,

I've done it twice with an integrated system and once with an under dash (glove box actually). The under dash one we used S1 Bluey plumbing and it was a snack - I ripped it out though when R12 went off the market as the cost to upgrade it to the new sh*t (R134a) was prohibitive and it wouldn't fit with the FJ when it gets stuffed into the road car. I used a Stanza Series 1 integrated once and it wasn't too bad to fit - but it's not worth using the old stuff these days. I'd be looking at a N14/15 Pulsar or similar as a donor. The other integrated unit I used was a Cortina XLE unit for some reason, must have been a good one at the time and the plumbing was easy but the in car unit wasn't - worked the best of all of them though but again it was a R12 unit.

regards
Terry (these days I use 4 x 100 a/c)

Here is a topic we haven't had for a long while - it must be coming on to winter!
While suggestions come forth, has anyone done a simple aircon installation into a 1600?  This would also help demist the screen.

I have an early (79/80) Skyline aircon system lying around and it looks like it may fit. Any experience with such an installation?

Hi all,
Does anyone know if it`s possible to upgrade the heater fan so it blows more air to the windscreen in a 1600?

   Thanks,
           Kris.
