Craig,

There's no hard and fast rules with the R30's as far as gearbox goes, well
not that I've figured out yet. It just seems to be hit and miss between
stumpy & long box in them. I got a stumpy out the most beatup looking
imported 5 door once that I paid 50 clams for and I thought that was risky
at the time - well it was as tight as a drum and it's still behind a CA18
turbo in a 1200 ute and going strong, which is more than I can say for the
diffs in those. My local wrecker knows what the demand for stumpy boxes is
these days and his prices reflect this - I got him down to $250 on the last
one he had.

regards
Terry

While we're talking gearboxes, any one know what gears out of what boxes to
make up a closer ratio stumpy box?

        Cheers in advance Craig
