BEEN LIKE IT FROM DAY 1. oops. lifters are h/duty holden items dunno what brand. speed pro 969R maybe. carby worked very wel on another holden 6. I had a 600 AFB carter on it for a while, i had ordinary top end as there was not enough airflow through the secondarys to properly meter the fuel flow, but the bottom end was spectacular with that carby. I am keeping my eye out for a second hand 465 holley, but they are not too often seen secondhand. Buyt i am considering aftermarket efi. Is it worth it on an old holden 6? i have considered a v6 commy transplant (or turbo v6 nissan), but the old holden 6 has all the good parts,head work, roller rockers block prep, balancing. it would be a shame to waste that work. the dizzy does retard when you open throttle then advance, i am thinking of getting it regraphed. as far as valves go, they are bigger diameter than the internal diameter of the extractor ports (if that info is any help). wayne   ----- Original Message ----- From: Terry Rudd To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Wednesday, July 10, 2002 11:11 PM Subject: RE: off topic: holden 6 no legs Well say if it was a L18 I'd be looking at the carbie, dizzy advance and valves in that order. It's running out of something for sure. Has this condition always been there or something new.
